Last Friday, May 31, the Star Event Centre in Pyrmont buzzed with excitement as over 700 attendees gathered, both in person and online, for the 2024 Australian Association of Certifiers (AAC) Annual Conference, aptly titled "Building the Future." The event was a resounding success, showcasing the association's growing strength and influence across the industry.
A key focus of the conference was the exploration of new technologies in the field of building surveying. Among the various sessions, "The Future of AI is Human" discussed the potential applications of AI for building surveyors. During the session, discussions delved into seamlessly incorporating AI into business strategies to boost human creativity and innovation, fostering a future-ready workforce by enhancing human-centric skills through upskilling and reskilling and embracing leadership approaches that emphasise human values and ethics in the era of automation. While the possibilities of AI were noted, it was clear that further thought and consideration are necessary to determine how best to integrate AI into the profession effectively.
