Visual Approvals recently had the pleasure of attending the 2024 AAC Epic Conference, held at The Loft, Dolton House Jones Bay Wharf in Darling Harbour.
With nearly 130 attendees, the event proved to be a resounding success, drawing a diverse crowd of young professional building surveyors from both council and private certification sectors. What was particularly heartening to witness was the significant representation of women, signalling a positive trend for gender diversity in the profession.
Among the many highlights of the day, Sarah Rowan's keynote address stood out. An acclaimed artist and thought leader, Sarah captivated the audience with her insights on fostering creativity to shape a better future. Her experience as a speed painter added a unique perspective, illustrating the power of transformation through art.
As proud sponsors of the conference, Visual Approvals had the opportunity to share our vision during a lunchtime speaking slot. Our Director, Andre Chevallier-Knospe, delved into Visual Approvals' history and the exciting technological advancements driving the building certification industry forward. The audience reception was overwhelmingly positive, and attendees were delighted to snag some exclusive VA merchandise through our giveaways.
We were also thrilled to catch up with Josh McGufficke and his team from Acrocert. Josh played a pivotal role on the day as a member of the EPIC Committee. Their presence added to the sense of camaraderie and collaboration that permeated the event.
The conference provided a platform for meaningful discussions on building and development certification, professional growth, technical innovations, and sustainable practices. We thank the Association of Australian Certifiers for orchestrating such an enriching day.
