Introducing VAInspector 3

VAInspector 3 is the latest version of Visual Approval's inspection app. With it comes a host of new features that make inspections easier and more efficient. Here are some of the new features that make VAInspector 3 a must-have:

New Transfer System:

VAInspector 3 now uses a new document transfer mechanism that allows inspections to be moved to and from the iPad without the need for a third-party account (Dropbox). This new system allows Visual Approvals to track the transfer of inspections to ensure your data is being sent and received. This means you can be sure that your inspections are being sent and received securely.

Weblinks for Inspection Items:

Another great new feature added to VAInspector 3 is the ability to show a stored weblink for each checklist item. This means you can have a link to the NCC directly within the Inspection Checklist to open the NCC page on your iPad. This makes checking regulations easier as you go through the checklist.

Cancelled Inspections:

In VAInspector 3, an inspection that is cancelled on the iPad can be sent back to VA and will update the database. This inspection is then available for re-booking. This makes it easier to manage inspections that have been cancelled or postponed.

Locking download of files:

VAInspector 3 now locks the download process of files so that only one user can download and import files at a time. This protects against issues with two users trying to download and import the same files simultaneously. This enhancement ensures that the data is not corrupted or lost during the transfer process.

Summary:

It is important to note that VAInspector 2 has been retired from the App Store. VAInspector 3 can be accessed and downloaded through the Visual Approvals website on the Integrations page.  It is recommended that users keep VAInspector 2 on their iPads until advised to remove it. This way, you can continue to use it until your VA has been set up to use VAInspector 3.
